is finding solutions to urban congestion problems. An, efficient mass transport system is key to reducing road traffic, and can be operated by commuter trains, which are a fast, safe, economical and an environmentally friendly means of transport.


A recent example is the Civity train platform, modular trains designed for commuter and regional route passenger transit services.

CAF specializes in the design and production of rail rolling stock for passenger transport in areas with a high ridership. These products are equipped with the latest technological advances developed in our Technological Center.

The spanish railway national network (RENFE) has selected CAF to design and manufacture vehicles serving Commuter routes in the main Spanish cities. The CIVIA is the most recently developed and most modern train of this system.

These products are clearly designed for the customer, with a great deal of consideration given to the computerized and communication systems, as well as to the accessibility, comfort and air conditioning.

CAF provides state of the art vehicles for other transportation networks operted by regional administrations:
