ACR System

Operation of the Conventional System

The overhead line supplies the required energy as the train is running.

The kinetic energy from train braking is partially returned to the overhead catenary to be used by other trains if the line is receptive, while the rest is dissipated as heat by the brake resistors.

ACR System Operation

The train starts running from the station with the ACR system fully charged.

When the train runs between stops, the ACR system supplies the train with the required energy.

Kinetic energy from train braking is fully regenerated in the ACR System by switching to the recharging process.

The ACR System is fully charged at the station before resuming operation on the next section.
