The COSMOS system is a control and monitoring system based on train communications standard TCN IEC61375-1. This communications standard demands the fulfilment of the tests figuring in rail standard EN 50155 "Railway applications. Electronic equipment used on rolling stock”. This is a robust, fully modular system which combines all the on-board electronic and electromechanical items in a single telecommunications network.
This system has three basic functions:
- Control of communications between equipment.
- Train interface.
- Supervision, monitoring and recording of the train performance.
